Often our traditional view of the Father’s love and desire for intimacy has often been distorted, because of culture, or religion or simply through our own world view. Bill and I spent more than twenty-five years doing and teaching traditional church, but found that our need to have a loving, Father-child relationship with God just wasn’t there. It wasn’t until we began a journey to experience His presence and love that that started to change.
If you go back and take a look at the early church mystics, many had very little spiritual schooling (particularly the women), yet had encredible experiences of intimacy with the Father and Jesus. Even scriptures declare that when Jesus came, he came to reveal the Father in a personal and intimate way (Immanuel>God with us. Abba>Daddy God.).
We realize that for many, learning to live a life of intimate fellowship and love with the Father is a challenge. Religious traditions have condensed Him down concepts of the mind and words on a page, when in fact those words (though Spirit inspired), are but our own feeble attempts to try and describe someone who is is truly indescribable. Faith comes by love. Love is an experience first, a concept second. When we have experienced the Father’s affection and love, then we can truly believe that He is all that He says that He is.

LOL! Trust us. We are totally convinced that we are passionately, immeasurable loved, adored and enveloped in Abba’s love. How? Because we live in the experience of it on a daily, moment by moment way. Without the experience of His presence all mankind has is a religious knowledge that cannot penetrate the heart or mind. Religion leaves our hearts like orphans; never believing that we belong or that we are truly loved. An orphan has no inheritance, no Father, no destiny or purpose other than the one they make for themselves. They live their lives never belonging. That is not what Abba intended…that was Satan’s gig. But the Father..in Christ, reconciled us out of that darkness and into the kingdom of the light and love of His Son, so that we could once again walk in the cool of the day with the One who loves and adores us; whether we recieve that love or not. The scriptures are a record of the Father’s pursuit for a family in whom He could live in, manifest Himself in, and experience the Divine Romance with. Not at all. We actually have someone that helps with writing and maintaining this blog as it is a full time adventure. Bill and I also have two other online sites: Encounterhislove.com & Reallovestuff.com – our online soaking resource store. So having help with this one takes a lot of pressure off us to work on the others. The initial set up is the most time consuming, but posting on a regular basis takes commitment if you want anyone to read and follow. Good luck with your venture.

Not sure about the Epiphany, but the heart of the Gospel is “For God so loved the world.” Salvation was never meant to be an event, but rather the begining of an ongoing experience of the Father’s love. All through scripture He uses words such as Father, Bridegroom, Lover, Husband; all words denoting imitmacy. Jesus came to reveal Abba Father; a term of intimte affection. Maybe this concept is not as much of an ephiphany as it is restored truth? Blessings.

The longer we’ve walked with the Father, the more Bill and I realize that scripture is a record of individual experiences that people had with God. And though it is the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God, that doesn’t mean that man’s interpretation of it has always been accurate. Unfortunately, much of the Church has built their relationship with the Father around the letter of HIs word, instead of the heart of it. All scripture must have a Key of interpretation: it is possible that the Church has just been using the wrong one. The key to all our writing is Holy Spirit. We spend time soaking in the Father’s love, get the down low from Him, and ask Holy Spirit, who is an amazing idea guy, to show us the way. It’s a brillliant partnership. And when we get stuck, we go have a cup of coffee and do something totally un realted. Whether your writing a book, a blog or just positng on FB, you have a Friend who loves to be intimately involved in everything you. Try cooking with HIm sometime LOL!

The default font color for this particular them is grey. We tried using white, but it doesn’t show up in a RSS feed or follow email. In the light of eternal things, we had to put up with the grey to keep the rest. Blessings
